Kentish Players are delighted to announce that tickets are now on sale for our next production, The Flint Street Nativity by Tim Firth, writer of Calendar Girls, Kinky Boots and Neville’s Island.
This warm, witty and very funny festive comedy takes us inside Miss Horrocks’ class of six-year-olds as they prepare to perform their school nativity play for their proud mums, dads and the occasional social worker.
As the big performance approaches, the usual playground squabbles, rivalries and classroom politics begin to unfold, revealing the hilarious and sometimes touching world of children trying to make sense of Christmas, family and each other.
In this clever comedy, the children are played by adults, who later become the watching parents, creating a brilliant shift in perspective as the story moves from classroom chaos to nativity-night reality.
Audiences can expect Christmas carols with a twist, oversized classroom props, cardboard Bethlehem scenery, plenty of festive fun and a lot of heart.
Performances will take place at St Matthews Community Centre, Wigmore, ME8 0NP.
